ACCESS CERTIFICATES FOR ELECTRONIC SERVICES (ACES)
ACES enable individuals and businesses to conduct business with the government electronically via the use of digital
signature technology. In September 1999, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) named IdenTrust|DST as the
first ACES Certificate Authority(CA) to operate its digital certificate and repository services under the ACES
contract; thereby enabling IdenTrust|DST to issue digital certificates under ACES task orders from federal agencies.

ACES CERTIFICATE CENTER
IdenTrust|DST provides a simple and reliable process to obtain an ACES digital certificate.
There are two types of ACES certificates:
ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate
This certificate enables you to authenticate yourself in personal government transactions to gain access to restricted Web sites, and to send and receive e-mail communications using your digital certificate to authenticate yourself.

ACES REGISTRATION PROCESS AND DETAILS
ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate
Obtaining an ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate is a simple 3-Step process:
Step 1 - Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:
1. Name
2. E-mail address
3. Home address
4. Phone number
5. Social Security Number (SSN)
6. Date of Birth (DOB)
7. Driver's License Number or State ID
Payment
Payment methods: Credit Card, Order Number or Voucher Number.
Step 2 - Authentication
Processing of the ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate application is carried out by an IdenTrust|DST Registration Agent.
This process consists of validating the information provided in Step 1 against independent data sources.
Once the application is approved, usually within 1 business day, a retrieval kit is mailed to the
address provided in Step 1. Please allow up to 5 days for the retrieval kit to arrive in the mail.
Step 3 - Retrieval
Once the retrieval kit is received in the mail, follow the instructions to activate your ACES Unaffiliated Individual Certificate.

ACES Business Representative Certificate
Obtaining an ACES Business Representative Certificate is a simple 4-Step process:
Step 1 - Application
Once you begin the online application process, you will need to provide the following information and then provide payment for the digital certificate:
1. Name
2. Job Title
3. E-mail address
4. Organization/Company Name
5. State of Incorporation
6. DUNS Number, if available
7. Entity Type
8. Organization/Company Business Address
9. Organization/Company Phone Number
Payment
Payment methods: Credit Card, Order Number or Voucher Number
Step 2 - In-Person Identification
During the application process in Step 1, you will need to download the Authorization Agreement ID Form and then follow these instructions:
1. Complete the Authorization Agreement ID Form
2. Notarize the document
3. Submit the document per the instructions
Step 3 - Authentication
Processing of the ACES Business Representative Certificate application is carried out by an
IdenTrust|DST Registration Agent. This process consists of validating the information provided against independent
data sources and sources within your company. Once the application is approved, usually within three business days,
a retrieval kit is mailed to the address provided in Step 1. Please allow up to 5 days for the retrieval kit to

Step 4 - Retrieval

In-Person Identification Form
The ACES Business Representative Authorization Form is provided during the online application process. Or you can open print out a copy of the form here. Requires Adobe Acrobat. Please note that you must complete an
online application
in addition to the Business Representative Authorization Form.
Revoke ACES Certificate
Revoke an ACES certificate if the information contained in the certificate is no longer accurate, the private key has
been lost or compromised or you suspect that someone else has access to your certificate. To revoke a certificate,
please access the Certificate Management Center
or contact IdenTrust|DST's Help Desk at 1-888-339-8904.

IdenTrust|DST respects your privacy. The information provided in your ACES application is used solely for identity
authentication purposes by IdenTrust|DST.
