US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTERIM EXTERNAL CERTIFICATE AUTHORITY
Program Overview
The Interim External Certificate Authority (IECA) program is a critical element in the US Department of Defense's effort to move aggressively toward greater security, efficiency and paperless contracting.
Background
In 1999, Digital Signature Trust (IdenTrust|DST) was authorized by the Department of Defense (DoD) to issue digital certificates to DoD trading partners. As an IECA, IdenTrust|DST issues digital certificates to DoD trading partners for use in many of DoD's electronic programs including: the Wide Area Workflow, Defense Travel System, Secure Messaging and Electronic Document Access. Additional applications will be coming online over the course of the next several months. DoD is now transitioning all IECA vendors to the permanent ECA program. Watch this space for more news on our upcoming ECA products.
IdenTrust|DST's Government Services Group has been providing digital certificate services to US Federal and State agencies and the DoD for over five years. We subject ourselves to the most stringent audits and have built a reputation for unsurpassed technical expertise and customer service. We have developed an easy-to-use process for you to obtain your IECA certificate -- either one at a time, or in volume purchase.
