About IdenTrust|DST
Established in 1996,
IdenTrust|DST was a subsidiary of Zions First National Bank and is the first
licensed Certification Authority (CA) in the U.S. IdenTrust|DST helps government
and industry clients benefit from savings and service opportunities
offered by the Internet through providing trusted, Public Key Infrastructure
(PKI)-based digital certificate services and secure electronic commerce
solutions.
As the universe of PKI service providers broadens,
it becomes more critical for potential agency PKI customers to understand
the differences between service providers and specifically, how
IdenTrust|DST's differences will add value to agency PKI implementations.
Trust
From its banking heritage, IdenTrust|DST understands that secure communications
in the digital age is about more than technology, it is about trust
- the kind of trust and assurance that can be derived only from
the quality of the management practices, policies, and procedures
that an organization puts in place around technology. As a national
bank subsidiary, IdenTrust|DST is also subject to regulatory oversight and
other stringent internal and external auditing requirements that
offer an unparalleled level of assurance that its operations meet
or exceed all industry security and privacy standards.
Technology Independence
With a focus on implementing PKIs that meet individual client needs,
IdenTrust|DST offers a variety of PKI solutions backed by leading technology
providers. IdenTrust|DST provides consultation services to help customers
decide which system is most appropriate for their implementation,
and assists conversions to alternate systems as needed.
Proven Experience
In addition to being the first selected ACES CA, IdenTrust|DST is an approved
CA for the U.S. Department of Defense Interim External Certificate
Authority (IECA) PKI. IdenTrust|DST also provides CA services to the financial
services industry through ABAecom, a subsidiary of the American
Bankers Association; to state and local government through a partnership
with Public Technology Inc.; to the automotive industry through
the Automotive Network eXchange® service (ANX®), the world's largest
virtual private network; to Entrust WorldwideTM, an international,
multi-industry secure network community; and to the electric utility
industry's largest online trading community, OASIS.
Layers of Security
The integrity of any PKI is ultimately dependent on the security
of the physical infrastructure. IdenTrust|DST houses its PKI operations in
earthquake-resistant, state-of-the-art, secured facilities with
full backup and recovery systems. IdenTrust|DST's reliable operations run
24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rigid operations security is a
key ingredient to ensuring that the confidential root keys to customers'
PKI systems remain uncompromised.
